Working Hours/Days: 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday – Friday, Overtime as needed.
Overview:
This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the heavy construction parts department.
Will manage the day to day operations relating to customer service as well as managing the parts deparment staff.
Basic Duties:
Assist with customer service, sales, and marketing responsibility.
Train new staff members when needed.
Occasional forklift or pickup truck operation.
Inventory control and other administrative duties.
Ability to perform parts counter functions as needed.
Assist with pulling inventory in the parts warehouse.
Ability to perform backorder analysis as needed.
Run parts to local stores and customers when needed
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Associates degree or minimum of 5 years previous parts operations experience required.
Product knowledge and familiarity with on-highway trucks, diesel engines, electric power generation, and Caterpillar Construction Equipment preferred.
Must be a self-starter with good time management, planning, and organizational skills with a commitment to detail.
Ability to train hydraulic hose assemblies as needed.
Computer literate, PC experience with Office Outlook and knowledge of DBSI and SiS Web preferred.
Previous forklift and pallet jack experience needed.
Excellent communication skills (written, e-mail, and verbal) are necessary.
Customer service experience needed.
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, bend, push, pull, climb ladders and stairs as required.
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Valid driver’s license is needed with clean driving record.
This includes no more than 2 minor violations within the past 3 years and no major violations within the past 5 years (Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on final candidate).
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
This position works in both a warehouse environment with some outside exposure and office environment.
May, on a continuous basis, walk, bend and lift up to 75 lbs.
The wearing of approved safety equipment (i.
e.
safety glasses with side shields and steel toe footwear) is required.
Noise level in the warehouse is usually moderate to high and noise level in the office is low.
May sit at a desk to answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through email.
Occasional overnight travel may be required.
