*General Summary*:
Guided by NPC’s mission, vision, and values, the Director of Youth Ministry leads the congregation’s efforts to raise up faithful followers of Christ among the middle school and high school populations inside the church and out in the community.
*Essential Job Functions:*
* Grow NPC’s youth ministry, empowering youth to bear witness to Christ in all aspects of their daily lives.
* Plan, implement and lead an effective program of youth events, worship services, missions, small group discussions and one-on-one outreach for youth in grades 6 – 12 in conjunction with the volunteer youth ministry teams.
* Recruit, train, equip and manage volunteers to appropriately love and engage students and to fully staff youth ministry programs and events.
* Develop and oversee the annual Youth Ministry budget for review and approval.
* Provide direction and oversight for all youth-related communications, including newsletters, church bulletin announcements, web-site content, social media and youth marketing.
* Provide leadership for the Confirmation Ministry.
* Responsible for ensuring all youth volunteers receive proper training and clearance in the Safe Boundaries abuse prevention policy and program or its equivalent.
* Attend staff meetings and maintain a cooperative leadership relationship with all members of the staff, volunteers, parents and congregation.
* Continue to grow and mature in Christian faith through study and prayer.
* Supervise the Nursery, Children’s, and Youths Ministry Coordinators mentoring those people in the areas of curriculum, building relationships and attracting volunteers.
Ensures consistency throughout the children and youth programs.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor or Session.
* Must be a committed follower of Jesus Christ, demonstrating Christian maturity, a deep and prayerful dependence upon God, and compatibility with the Essential Tenets of ECO.
* Treat every covenant member and coworker with Christ like love and respect.
*Qualifications, Skills, Abilities:*
* Must be a committed follower of Jesus Christ, demonstrating Christian maturity and a deep and prayerful dependence upon God.
* Theologically consistent with the Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians (ECO) and NPC.
* Display the ability and passion to engage youth and parents and help them grow in their faith.
* Strong leadership, creative teaching approaches, excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster teamwork in a positive atmosphere with staff, volunteers and parents.
* Well organized with solid administration and communication skills; computer proficient.
* One who believes they are called to youth ministry.
*Education and Experience:*
* Bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministry or related ministries degree (included but not limited to Family Ministry, Pastoral Ministry, Christian Education) is required; Master’s degree desired.
* Professional experience in church ministry to youth desired.
* Successful experience recruiting, building and equipping teams for ministry.
* Past experience managing or mentoring peers desired.
*Working Conditions:*
* Normal office working conditions, with the freedom to work offsite with supervisor approval.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.
00 - $45,000.
