A Waterfront Director has an awesome summer outdoors, being a mentor to girls, and providing fun all day long! Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.
Camp is one of the outlets to make that mission a reality for many girls.
The Waterfront Director is a part of that mission each summer.
As a Waterfront Director, you will organize and administer activities at the waterfront consistent with Girl Scout and American Camping Association standards.
Requirements:
ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Develop and carry out waterfront activities including the pool and lake areas that are age appropriate and tie into the Girl Scout program.
• Design and implement waterfront in-services for safety at the pool and lake areas.
• Supervise and evaluate waterfront staff.
• Responsible for the care and use of pool equipment, shower house, lake front, and canoeing equipment.
Request necessary repairs and maintenance to Camp Director.
• Prepare reports and paperwork as requested by the Camp Director.
• Assist with pre-camp and staff in-services throughout the summer.
• Teach water safety, swimming, and canoeing.
• Plan and direct all-camp events in area of aquatic education, with help of assigned staff teams.
• Assist with check-in and checkout.
• Communicate daily with Camp Director.
• All other duties as assigned by Camp Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Be a current member of the Girl Scout movement or willing to join.
• ACA preferred.
• Be able to act calmly and quickly in emergency situations.
• Be able to effectively teach waterfront skills and supervise campers.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
· Hold a current driver’s license.
· Have experience supervising in a similar setting desirable.
·Have current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification and
· Lifeguard Certificate or equivalent.
·Have current CPR and First Aid certification.
·Have sound judgment, integrity, maturity, and sense of humor.
·Have good health and stamina necessary to live in a camp setting.
·Be willing to live in staff tent or cabin near campers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching and lifting 20 – 50 pounds.
Daily exposure to seasonal weather conditions.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
All staff must be familiar with the safety rules and regulations.
They must take reasonable steps to ensure their own health and safety, and that of anyone else who may be affected by their actions.
They should inform their supervisor of any hazard with which they are not trained.

At this time, camp staff COVID-19 vaccination and testing requirements are being evaluated.
We will have more definitive information in the coming months.
