Graham Health System’s Director of Hospital Business Services is responsible for ensuring efficient operations of Business Services to plan, direct, and execute all revenue cycle activities for Graham Hospital.
The position manages various business office tasks for Graham Hospital, including accurate, timely, and consistent performance of all functions pertaining to patient accounts, billing, and collections.
In addition, the Director oversees a staff of professional and clerical positions at multiple locations including the cashier, billing, customer service, self-pay collections, and financial advocates.
The Director is the primary contact for hospital patient reimbursement issues in accordance with established government and credit policies.
Additionally, they work with third-party payers and patients to ensure timely recovery of outstanding accounts receivable.
All communications are conducted in a manner that will result in positive patient relations and prompt reimbursement for the organization.
The position requires highly refined management supervisory and communication skills that will facilitate timely resolution of sensitive collection issues within an environment of favorable public relations.
Includes contact with patients, physicians, hospital and medical group administration, and third-party payers.
The director coordinates operations with all departments of Graham Health System, employees and medical staff.
Interprets policies and recommends policy changes.
Interviews, hires, and trains new employees and assigns them to various work areas.
The Director reports directly to the Senior Director of Revenue Cycle.
Bachelor’s degree in a business administration or accounting
Master’s degree preferred
Five (5) years of related healthcare revenue cycle management experience, preferably within a hospital system and affiliated physician practices
Five (5) years experience working directly with payors
Strong background and knowledge in healthcare revenue cycle operations/principles
