POSITION TITLE: Assistant Professor of Education
POSITION SUMMARY: Teach education courses as needed.
This position could also supervise practicum and student teaching placements in Education.
Teaching load is 6 credits.
POSITION TITLE: Director of Teacher Education, Assessment, and ISBE Licensure Officer
POSITION SUMMARY: Oversees all aspects of the Eureka College Teacher Education Program.
Serve as Illinois State Board of Education Liaison and Licensure Officer.
Responsible for implementation and upkeep of the teacher education programs’ assessment system.
This is a 18-credit load.
This is a 12 month position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF DIRECTOR:
Chair of Teacher Education Committee.
This includes conducting meetings, sharing state legality updates, approving new/revised programs, and updating Teacher Education Program each semester.
Conducting Education department meetings, supporting development of new programs, managing mileage reimbursements for adjuncts, managing additional Education financial accounts.
Oversee Eureka College Teacher Education Program.
This includes leading and organizing at least 2 student meetings per year, overseeing student application process for admission to the Eureka College Teacher Education Program, keeping advisors updated on students’ progress on portfolio components and grade point average, and managing all student entitlement on ELIS.
Serve as Illinois State Board of Education Liaison and Licensure Officer.
This includes communicating, attending scheduled in-person and virtual meetings, and managing response to ISBE program and legislative updates.
Stay current on rules and regulations pertaining to Teacher Licensure, including those originating from ISBE, the Illinois State Legislature, and the Federal Government.
Communicate those changes to Eureka College Faculty and Provost.
This also includes writing and submitting annual reports to the State of Illinois Certification Board, State Educator Preparation and Licensure Board (SEPLB), and Title II reports.
Serve as institutional representative to all professional education organizations (ACI, IACTE, IATEPC, etc.
), including attendance at local/statewide meetings for these organizations.
Maintain filing system for Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
Conduct program reviews for Eureka College assessment processes and external requirements and assist academic divisions in assessment for content area standards.
Collect all external and internal source data, perform analysis, and present data to the Eureka College Teacher
Education Committee and external advisory committee.
