Kitchen Manager/Cook

Oliver's Pizza & Pub North is the flagship of a locally-owned restaurant company with three Illinois locations.
We are currently hiring for the position of kitchen manager to work 5 days per week.
Prep begins at 1:30pm on weekends and 2:30pm on weekdays.
Days off can be rotated with other competent staff members as desired.
Shift end times vary, but typically range from 8:30pm-10:30pm nightly.
We have a small and friendly staff, and our recipes are tried and true.
We are looking for a kitchen manager who can direct the flow of tickets on a fast-paced weekend, as well as stay busy and keep other employees busy when we are less busy.
Time management and multitasking skills are crucial for this position.
Duties - Create a schedule for all back of house employees - Adhere to and enforce cleaning, food safety, and food preparation protocols - Prepare and cook meals according to the recipes provided - Ensure that all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, following food safety guidelines - Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely meal service - Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, including proper storage of food and supplies - Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages or needs to the supervisor Experience - Previous experience working as a cook in a food service or restaurant setting - Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices - Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils, including knives - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously - Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately Certification Requirements -Food Protection Manager Certification is required for this position Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
