Overview:
Expected pay for this position is $41.
80 - $55.
38/hour.
Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager Laboratory Services plans, schedules and evaluates the operations of assigned laboratory department.
Ensures the provision of high quality services in accordance with Medical Center and regulatory requirement.
Assists in developing, implementing, and administering new services in order to achieve fiscal year business plans.
Manages financial, capital, and human resources to ensure services meet established quality and productivity standards, and implements corrective action as necessary.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a science field such as Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Science, with successful completion of ASCP or AMT Board of Certification exam.
OR
For Labs with specialty departments, Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) in a science field such as Biology or Chemistry, with at least 4 years of work experience in a clinical lab setting.
Alternative bachelor’s degrees will be considered with 4 years’ work experience in a laboratory, healthcare, or quality role.
Experience:
3 years of experience with progressive responsibilities and demonstrated leadership abilities (such as technical lead or coordinator, leaders of interdisciplinary team/committee, performance improvement project leader, etc.
) in Laboratory Services or a clinical/healthcare setting.
Other skills/Knowledge:
Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively and communicate with patients and other health care professionals.
High level of professionalism and skillful performance in stressful situations.
Analytical skills necessary to organize and direct the work of others.
Change management skills in order to adapt and lead in a frequently changing environment.
Strong organizational skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and initiatives during a given time frame.
Ability to develop and sustain strong staff and interdepartmental relationships.
Possess a moderate level of expertise with Computer/MS Office.
Licensure/certifications:
Maintains current certifications according to guidelines established by appropriate certifying agency if required by department managing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in healthcare or business related field
3 years of Supervisory level experience in Laboratory services.
Advanced level of expertise with Computer/MS Office.
