POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Job Title: Quality Manager
Reports To: Plant Manager
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Salary Range: Contract position for 12-14 months
Location: Morton, IL
SUMMARY
Quality Assurance who will own and lead the implementation of the quality management system to achieve IATF 16949 certification.
You will lead a team of Quality Assurance professionals, set tactical and operational plans for the achievement of Quality Compliance goals and drive change to ensure continuous quality improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Develops and manages plans, guidelines, policies, procedures, and processes, to ensure the achievement of quality targets.
• Leads implementation of quality management system to comply with IATF 16949 and processes to ensure overall quality is continuously improving.
• Oversees quality improvement processes.
• Manages teams collecting and analyzing quality information from multiple sources to develop long-term quality strategy and programs.
• Manages teams providing production process analyses, ensuring quality standards are met and making recommendations for quality improvement.
• Develops and implements operations quality plans and procedures.
• Manages and maintains department budget requirements.
Champions site compliance such as ISO, IATF standards, supplier, and customer Audits.
• Leads and directs quality organization and provides cross-functional quality integration leadership.
• Establishes, oversees, and administers processes, policies, and best practices, and determines resource requirements, acquisition, improvement plans and quality measures.
• Communicates, educates, trains and coaches’ customers, suppliers, and internal personnel regarding Quality policies, processes, and procedures.
• Provides cross-functional Quality technical expertise.
Prepares and presents departmental metrics at site monthly reviews Requirements: EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE • Bachelor’s Degree and/or minimum of 10 years’ experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control and or Engineering functions.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Management.
• Strong experience with Metrology, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, Blueprints.
• Proficient in quality tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Failure Mode Effects Analysis-Control Plan (FMEA-CP).
• Strong experience with Management System Standards such as ISO 9001, IATF16949, and ISO14001.
• Experience in the Automotive Industry, at tier 1 or tier 2 level preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to teach problem solving techniques (RCA/ 5why,8d).
• Strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
• Experience leading and facilitating cross functional teams.
• Must be team oriented and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must have experience with IATF 16949 standard.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise Quality departmental employees.
