Job Title: Director, Foundation Status / FLSA Status: FT / Exempt Classification: Professional Support Department: SRC Foundation Reports To: President Location: Canton Campus (District Wide) Date Updated: December 2023 PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Director of the SRC Foundation directs the operations of the SRC Foundation to seek public and private resources through the solicitation of grants, endowments, and other funds to assist the College with educational, service, capital, and other institutional needs.
Provides leadership for the Spoon River College Foundation, alumni relations, and college fundraising activities.
Creates and executes effective strategies to establish support and lasting relationships with various constituencies to progress the mission and improve the resources of the college.
RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.
Facilitate day to day operations of the Spoon River College Foundation at the direction of the College President including coordinating general and committee meetings of the Foundation Board.
2.
Collaborate with Board of Trustees, senior leadership, faculty, and Foundation Board to effectively communicate the College’s programs, strengths, and funding priorities to the community, donors, and prospects.
3.
Develop, update, and maintain Foundation by laws, policies, and procedures, suggesting enhancements as needed.
4.
Manage Foundation records, legal documents, and ensure compliance to maintain non-profit status.
5.
Create, lead, implement, and achieve the goals set forth in the annual Spoon River College Foundation fundraising and operational plan along with identifying potential new Foundation Board members.
6.
Develop and coordinate all aspects of fundraising and development projects for the Spoon River College Foundation.
7.
Ability to work with diverse groups including SRC Foundation Board, SRC students, employees, donors, and potential donors.
8.
Work with the SRC Alumni Association to cultivate relationships and fundraising opportunities for the college through a long-range plan.
9.
Participate in approved public/ civic organizations and activities to increase the college’s exposure in the community.
10.
Oversee key areas of development including, but not limited to, the development of grants, planning, budgeting, direct mail, special events, grants, major gifts, capital campaigns, phone solicitation, donor recognition, donor cultivation, planned giving, public relations/marketing, and working directly with volunteers.
11.
Develop and maintain all Foundation Scholarship development and awarding processes.
12.
Assist the College President in enhancing local, regional, and statewide relations.
13.
Direct the research, development, and administration of all Foundation grants.
14.
Build and maintain a strong donor base for estate planning and annual giving.
15.
Develop and maintain positive relations with donors, potential donors, alumni, and other key constituent groups.
16.
Prepare, allocate, and manage budget resources for the SRC Foundation.
17.
Monitor the performance and productivity of volunteers and Foundation Board members within areas of responsibility.
18.
Attend related conferences, workshops, seminars, and webinars for continuing education purposes.
19.
Serve as a member of the President’s Cabinet.
20.
Perform other duties as assigned by the President.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs supervisory responsibilities in accordance with federal and state employment law, college policies and procedures, the supervisor handbook, and relevant collective bargaining unit agreements with regard to recruitment and selection, timely review and approval of timesheets, assigning workload and projects, performance evaluation, discipline, communication, departmental leadership, and day-to-day supervision.

4.
Certified Fund Raising Executive or other credentialing is preferred.

Donor-based management experience is preferred.

Experience supervising employees and delegating responsibilities is required.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
8.
Experience with Microsoft applications and personal computer skills are required.
9.
Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities; deal with conflict appropriately; withstand pressure and remain calm in tense situations, accurate; flexible; dependable; responsible; promotes teamwork; demonstrates a positive attitude is preferred.

A current, valid, and clear Illinois state driver’s license is required.
