Job Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for the success of a project’s lifecycle including project tasks pertaining to justification, initiation, planning, execution, monitoring/controlling, and closing.
Provides project support to departments/functional programs and assists internal customers in the communication, ideation, planning, prioritization, and resource utilization.
Leads large, cross-functional, and/or critical projects for the organization and serves as a primary point of contact for project activities focusing on new market expansion projects, and promotes visibility and transparency through status updates and regular communications.
Leadership Duties/Responsibilities:
Serve as a single point of contact on projects.
Establishes tools, resources, and processes for project management.
Fosters a culture of teamwork within project management and with other departments.
Provide feedback and coaching to staff to clear roadblocks; negotiate and facilitate dialogue to understand and resolve issues.
Oversees the daily workflow of the project team; motivates and coaches staff to higher levels of performance.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Establish and manage project deadlines by facilitating cross department discussion and collaboration
Gather relevant project information throughout from multiple product / businesses leaders across the organization
Partner with business unit(s) to solve problems and identify requirements related to market expansion
Partner with groups across the company (finance, engineering, technology, sales and marketing) and more to ensure accurate breadth and coverage for any specific project
Ensure communication with relevant stakeholders and provide progress, status and risks updates
Manage overall project lifecycle and implement project management processes to ensure excellent delivery
Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, and task/workflow analysis.
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details and distinguish user requests from underlying business needs.
Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute critical functions.
Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and coordinate projects.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong operational and project management skills – keeping projects on time and on budget through monitoring, training, coaching, and clearing roadblocks.
Ability to track, prioritize, and complete multiple projects simultaneously without missing a beat.
High Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), and Smartsheet experience with other project management software products.
Results-oriented and self-motivated; enjoys leading a team to complete a job well done.
Ability to recognize, analyze, and effectively solve problems in a timely and organized manner.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
Clean driving record required, with the ability to travel locally and occasionally overnight.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor of Science in a related technical/science/mathematics field.
5+ years in project management, ideally in a broadband or related field.
Or, a relevant combination of education, project management certifications, and/or experience with large-scale projects.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit at a desk for extended periods, working at a computer up to 8 hours per day.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
Ability to physically operate personal computers, copy machines, telephones, and other common office machines and equipment.
