What You Will Do: Our Logistics Information Services (LIS) seeks one talented, highly motivated IT professional to fill a critical role as the Manager, Information Technology for the Caterpillar Product Support & Logistics Division (PSLD).
This role serves as a strategic partner to our Caterpillar Aftermarket Parts Distribution Division.

As the Manager, Information Technology, you will lead a team of approximately fourteen (14) IT professionals, comprised of IT Architects/Specialist, IT Analysts, Team Leads based in the United States, and partners and work with global teams in India and Europe.
Directly accountable for 24x7 Global Tech support and Projects to meet the overall transformation initiative of the Aftermarket Parts business.
You will be the IT Product Owner for SAP Service Parts Management (SPM) Basis, Middleware Integration and Database Administration services supporting Aftermarket Parts IT Portfolio.
As the IT Technical Product Owner and strategic partner to the business, you will serve as a trusted IT strategy advisor to develop and drive the Technology roadmap.
Focus on ongoing support activities and high systems availability for Global SPM Basis, Database Administration, and Middleware Integration.
Ensure vendor software and infrastructures are current and secure.
Champion new technology exploration and transformation to deliver significant savings and benefits including the SAP S/4 HANA Transformation, Business Objects (BOBJ) Customer Expansion, SnapLogic ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load), BTP Transformation, and SPM Azure Cloud technologies.
You will partner with business leaders in Parts Distribution and Enterprise IT globally to identify opportunities to promote leading industry practices, deliver on Technology transformations.
Primary job duties include, but are not limited to: Lead and deliver IT implementations and deployment of SAP Service Parts Management (SPM) Basis, Middleware integration and DRM activities.
Build proactive, responsive relationships with the internal IT teams and Caterpillar/Enterprise IT teams to ensure alignment of business objectives with technology solutions.
Thought leadership for strategic initiatives by creating a 3 to 5-year view that includes the conceptual architecture and technology.
Deliver the S4/HANA Transformation initiatives.
Business continuity management.
Non-Core Application Support.
Provide leadership of cross-application system architects enabling guidance of project initiatives including solution analysis, estimates, and recommendations.
Identifying new disruptive technologies to provide business value at Caterpillar.
Coach and manage a team of Architects to accomplish the above listed responsibilities.
This includes following the standard Caterpillar HR processes in hiring, developing, and evaluating employees, work planning and assignment to achieve goals and budget management.
Provide solution option development including IT vendor selection support to selected, complex business or managing a proof of concept or proof of technology.
Management staff augmentation of contracted resources.
Work with solution architects to support project recommendations covering scope, resources, approach, solution options, risk/assumptions and oversight of blueprint, design, and implementation of quality solutions.
Develop a high performing IT team with the necessary capabilities to ensure quality solutions in the most cost effective and efficient manner.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to execute business priorities, execute roadmap, and manage delivery expectations.
Provide decision support in accordance with the Architecture Review Board.
Champion IT Controls, cyber-security and ITSM processes to ensure security and quality of IT services.
Provide direction and guidance for project execution, monitor status, and report progress to stakeholders and leaders.
Champion customer focused continuous improvement objectives and transition plans including change management.
Develop and manage an IT budget of approximately $10-$12 (plus) million.
Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time.
What You Have (Basic Qualifications): Bachelor’s degree and 10 (plus) years of progressively complex IT experience, of which at least 5 years’ experience with SAP systems.
Client/Customer focus and ability to lead development and implementation of multiyear IT roadmap, including effectively managing staff, budgets, and initiatives.
Business process expertise in one or more of the following: Supply Chain Management, Parts Warehousing and Distribution, Dealer processes applications.
Familiarity with IT operations and processes including but not limited to application development/support, infrastructure implementations, IT consolidations, and support.
An ability to motivate diverse teams and effectively collaborate across organizational boundaries with strong global and enterprise mindset.
People management skills and a focus on developing others.
Experience with full systems development life cycle and support of customer applications.
Experience with LEAN/Agile development methodologies.
The ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.
What You Have (Preferred Qualifications): Proven ability as a leader of leaders, managing a diverse global team with the ability to deliver significant business unit results with a focus on culture.
Expertise in SAP, cloud, and integration technologies.
Proven ability to work with and influence senior managers from diverse functions.
Strategic thinker with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
Previous experience as a Portfolio/Program/Project Manager (or 6 Sigma Black Belt).
Familiarity with Organizational Change Management and ability to apply concepts.
Strong initiative and accountability.
Strong emotional intelligence, intellectual curiosity.
