The City of Pekin is currently accepting applications and resumes for a Finance Director.
This position will serve as the City Treasurer and Manager of the Finance Department.
This position will also direct and administer the City budget, prepare financial reports and overseeing all financial functions of the City.
We are looking for a Finance Director with municipal experience to join our leadership team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.
Prepares and presents monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to Council on the City's Financial condition including a ACFR in coordination with the City's auditor.
Assist City Manager with annual operating budget preparation.
Assist and advise in the preparation of capital budget.
Supervises, directs, and is responsible for fiscal operations and GASB compliance.
Develop policies to establish procedures and practices regarding financial administration.
Establish and administer internal accounting and bookkeeping policies, procedures, and controls for financial accounting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and applicable laws related to municipal finances, and, in consultation with the City's independent auditing firm as necessary.
Tracking and forecasting revenues and expenditures by classification, department, and fund regularly.
Analyzes fiscal trends affecting budget surpluses/deficits.
Participates in the formulation of economic development strategies for incentives and promotion of the City of Pekin.
Prepares special projects upon request.
Prepares and coordinates with the City Clerk annual tax levy.
Supervises and evaluates employees within the Finance Department.
Interacts with citizens, taxpayers, other city employees to ensure collection function meets policies and procedures set in place.
Acts in the place of City Treasurer regarding investments and proposed finance options for the City of Pekin.
Analyzes and manages the City's cashflow requirements.
