Join us! The SPPD Division Manager of Communications leads a team to implement communication strategies to achieve divisional and enterprise objectives.
Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources of SPPD, the communications manager acts as a direct advisor to the Sr.
Vice President and senior management team for internal and external communications and speaking events.
This leader serves as the communication focal point and delivers communications to employees and process partners within the division and enterprise, and throughout our global supplier network.
What you will do: Consulting with managers on messaging using the power of words, images, sounds and multi-media.
Coaching staff involved in any communication events or presentations.
Advising organization on all aspects of communication formats to ensure clarity and accuracy of message.
Create speeches, video scripts, presentations, graphics, newsletter articles, external supplier communications, and coordinate internal employee meetings.
Manage media relations where necessary and serve as a liaison with Corporate Public Affairs and Legal.
Conducting final review and approval before internal or external communications are released.
What skills you will have: Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge and practice of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Communicating Complex Concepts: Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to refine complex topics down to simple to understand terms quickly; effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.
Initiative: Being proactive and committing to action on self-identified job responsibilities and challenges; ability to seek out work and the drive to accomplish goals.
Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Copywriting and Editing: Knowledge of copywriting and editing; ability to write, review and edit texts and documents to promote marketing.
Organizational Communications: Knowledge of techniques and media for organizational communication; ability to utilize relevant tools to communicate information about the organization internally and externally.
Education and experience requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, or related field, or the equivalent in on-the-job experience.
7+ years’ experience in progressively responsible job-related roles Excellent interpersonal skills are required to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific actions.
