(IEI) is looking for an Engineering Office Operations Manager (EPC) to join our Team! We are a leading engineering firm known for quality and responsiveness; we also have a proven track record of success as a Prime civil engineering firm.
The Engineering Office Operations Manager (EPC) has responsibilities for leading our Peoria, Illinois office by growing and building a highly motivated team while overseeing the delivery of a diverse projects’ portfolio consisting of design and construction inspection services.
This position will also cultivate existing client relationships with the city of Peoria and IDOT and lead the pursuit and securing of opportunities with a variety of new public and private clients in alignment with the current strategic business plan.

Key Role Requirements This position will be responsible for providing office leadership, project delivery, operational management, and business planning in close partnership with IEI’s senior leadership team.
The ideal candidate will bring established relationships with market clients and community in various sectors and levels to identify and secure new work.
The Engineering Office Operations Manager (EPC) will use their strong project and program management skills to help IEI hire, mentor, and grow an excellent team and conduct and oversee the work.
This position, amongst many other duties, will develop and monitor workload, staffing, and budget projections and be responsible for the overall performance and productivity of the office.
What You'll Do Oversees and provides direction to all disciplines to ensure delivery of all project elements (plans, specs, permits, reports, etc.
) are technically accurate.
Ensures all projects comply with Quality Control guidelines to improve overall project quality and accuracy.
Ensures project delivery team secures executed contracts, Notice to Proceed, and Subconsultant Agreements prior to the inception of project services.
Ensures the project delivery team safeguards the firm’s exposure against risks associated with scope and scope creep, fees, and schedule by actively monitoring them and promptly communicating deviations to the clients.
Ensures project delivery team monitors clients’ project delivery goals and proactively identifying issues and obstacles which may compromise or influence the achievement of such goals.
Oversees and provides direction where needed on contract negotiations with clients in the development of scope, fees, and schedule.
Manages technical staff within the office and coordinates with other office leaders in assigning and securing required technical and other tangible resources for project delivery.
Develops forecasts for staffing needs in comparison with available capacity locally and firm-wide.
Regularly coordinates and updates the Executive Vice President regarding the performance of the office.
Actively engages in the supervision of design and inspection to ensure IEI policies and procedures are adhered to and works closely with Human Resources on all aspects of the employee life cycle.
To Be Successful Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four‐year college or university or approved equivalent required Must have an active Registered Professional Engineer or Structural Engineer in the State of Illinois required; additional registrations and accreditations (i.
e.
LEED AP, Certified Floodplain Manager, PTOE, etc.
) are desired.
