It's More Than a Job, It's a Career We are seeking a Senior Manager Finance to execute the Global Finance Transformation strategy across Construction Industries(CI) at Caterpillar Inc.
This role is also responsible for ensuring a strong control environment through data oversight and governance, support financial reporting and analysis defragmentation, business partnering skills development, and the achievement of other financial and non-financial objectives.
The Senior Manager Finance will establish the connection between the Global Finance Strategy Center of Excellence (COE) and Construction Industries, a $25B+ segment for Caterpillar Inc.
Our Construction Industries segment is primarily responsible for supporting customers using machinery in infrastructure and building construction.
The segment competes in three main product segments: Excavation, Earthmoving and Building Construction Products.
Collectively, the teams across the segment are responsible for business strategy, product design and development, manufacturing, supply management, marketing and sales, and product support.
What You Will Do: Key finance transformation business partner for CI Division CFO’s, Segment CFO, Global Finance Transformation Team, and Global Finance Leadership Team Establish a disciplined Planning, Execution, & Report Out process across CI Finance by driving lean principles.
The chosen candidate will work with the CI Finance leadership team to establish the process Scale the "Mission Control" solution(s) across the segment and be a key contact to collaborate with peers across the enterprise Drive collaboration with CI and Global Finance to execute standard tools and build the foundation for business partnering and insights.
The outcome is a process-lean organization with a transformational mindset that leverages technology for insights - built upon fundamentals of standardization, simplification, waste elimination, and automation Lead the segment business partnering and insights strategy execution through simplification, standardization, waste elimination, and automation.
Develop automated analytical reports and insights in the CI Mission Control to save time and influence business outcomes Lead external and internal IT partners to design & develop new features and enhancements Act as the Lead Strategy Ambassador and maintain “dotted line” responsibility for the CI strategy ambassadors Lead and execute strategy to transition segment functions to Global Finance COE - lead defragmentation of accountable and transactional processes within business units Collaborate with Global Finance to execute finance transformation skills development content and strategy Effectively lead, influence, and interact with a global and diverse team.
Focused on strategy execution and talent development What You Have: Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in an Accounting, Finance, IT, or Process Transformation related discipline and significant progressively responsible Accounting, Finance, IT, or Process Transformation related experience Strategic Thinking: An expert level of strategic analysis, problem solving, business acumen and governance background.
The Ability to take an Enterprise point of view and lead with our Values in Action Business Acumen: Ability to influence and engage with a team across multiple geographic locations, nationally and internationally, and collaborate and partner across peers and leadership.
Expert level communication and executive presence with ability to make the complex simple to understand and execute Leadership: Expert level business skills and judgement with courage, emotional intelligence, and intellectual curiosity.
The ability to create the vision and lead change, and set challenging targets and prioritize to achieve results.
Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, and/or persuade others inside and outside the segment to take specific actions.
