We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to oversee Caterpillar’s structural validation expertise at our Peoria Proving Ground (PPG), Tucson Proving Ground (TPG) and Tech Center Building D (TC-D) shake table.
Your primary responsibilities will include developing and maintaining expertise in on-machine structural life and loads testing, driveline histogram and driveline signature, mounted equipment resonance, wireless fatigue modes, and shake table dynamics.
Your role involves strategic business management, safety protocol adherence, and fostering a culture of continual growth.
You will lead efforts to enhance operational efficiency, safety standards, and product quality benchmarks.
Additionally, your leadership will drive continuous improvement initiatives and provide exemplary support to ensure organizational success and operational excellence.
What You Will Do: Spreadhead strategic management initiatives encompassing budgetary oversight, resource allocation optimization, and rigorous control measures.
Champion a culture of continual growth and development through comprehensive training programs, robust succession planning strategies, and personalized professional development pathways.
Foster employee engagement and drive performance excellence through effective performance management practices.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols by crafting and maintaining safe job procedures and oversee the meticulous execution of test activities to guarantee a safe working environment.
Drive documentation processes to capture test results, conduct thorough analysis, and derive actionable conclusions to inform decision-making processes.
Lead continuous improvement endeavors aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, accelerating project velocity, fortifying safety standards, and elevating product quality benchmarks.
Provide exemplary leadership support to the PPG facility by actively participating in site-wide initiatives, leveraging expertise to drive organizational success and bolster operational excellence.
What You Have (Basic Qualifications): Degree: Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
Technical Excellence: Proficiency in structural validation methodologies and testing techniques is essential for this role.
Strategic Planning: Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans for business management initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
Communicating for Impact: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely across all levels of the organization, facilitating seamless collaboration and alignment.
Influence Through Expertise: Demonstrated extensive technical expertise to drive organizational success and champion growth.
Top Candidates Will Have : Decision Making & Critical Thinking: Analytical skills to interrupt test results and make informed decisions.
Customer/Market Focus: Understanding of customer requirements and alignment of testing efforts with market demands.
Additional Info : Location: Washington, IL (Peoria Proving Grounds) Up to 10% domestic travel is expected.
Domestic relocation is available to those who qualify.
