It is a part of the Military Modular Sleep System and is designed to cover the Patrol and Intermediate Cold Weather sleeping bags.
When combined with the other components of the Extended Cold Weather equipment systems and clothing, the Bivy Cover will extend the temperature rating to be endured; this cover alone adds 10-15degrees to your sleeping bag's lowest temperature rating (all five components result in a temperature rating of -50F).
These bivy covers are lightly used and have no holes, tears or defects.
