*Job Description* *Summary:* * The main function of a non-IT project manager is to plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as engineering, research and development, financial systems, product roll-out, etc.
or any other non-IT-based project.
*Job Responsibilities:* * Coordinate projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
* Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings to clients.
* Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
* Analyze technology, resource needs and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
* Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.
* Review and recommend or approve contracts and cost estimates.
* Direct, review and approve product designs and changes.
* Consult or negotiate with clients to prepare project specifications.
*Skills:* * Verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
* Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
* Strong leadership and mentoring skills are necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
* Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
* Strong knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.
* Strong knowledge of computer software, such as MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio etc.
*Education/Experience:* * Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
* PMI or PMP certification preferred.
* 8-10 years of experience required.
*Position’s Contributions to Work Group:* * NSI Program Leadership.
* NPI Program Leadership.
* NPI, NTI, & NSI general program support.
*Typical task breakdown:* * NSI Program Leadership – resources will be critical to having adequate support for program deliverables moving forward.
* NPI Program Leadership – resource will primarily support Risk Level 1 & 2 programs as time allows.
* NPI, NTI, and NSI general program support.
*Interaction with team:* * Daily interaction with peers, Engineers, Supply Chain, Operations and Purchasing personnel in support of outlined responsibilities.
*Work environment:* * Office environment; in-person and remote / online.
* Limited travel to production facilities and suppliers (<5%).
*Education & Experience Required:* * BS or Assoc’s degree in engineering, technology, manufacturing, materials, or industrial technology.
* 5+ years of engineering design and/or program management experience.
* 8-10 years overall professional experience.
*Technical Skills* *(Required)* * Ability to lead cross-functional teams in design, manufacturing, supply chain, accounting, and purchasing.
* MS Office suite of Tools.
*(Desired)* * Business acumen: ability to develop and understand program financials.
* Previous cross-functional team leadership experience.
* Familiarity with Client NSI, NPI, and NTI processes.
* 6Sigma or Lean Training.
* Familiarity with Client data systems for demand, cost, warranty, and reliability.
* Project planning experience.
* Familiarity with Power BI.
