We are seeking candidates to fill the position of *Construction* *Materials Testing Technician* in our *Morton *(Central Illinois) location.
Construction Materials Testing Technicians perform a variety of testing on construction materials such as soils, concrete, and asphalt.
On-site materials testing is conducted on various commercial and transportation construction projects.
Occasionally, working with construction inspection and surveying departments may be required.
*POSITION REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:*
* Perform field testing on construction materials
* Sample and test soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt
* Perform testing and observations on commercial, residential, and government construction projects
* Prepare daily reports on observation activities
* Must be able to work independently
* Must be comfortable as decision-making authority
* Demonstrated ability to learn and apply technical concepts
* Ability to communicate both written and verbally
* Flexibility to work extended or nontraditional hours as needed
* Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Safety focus and attention to detail
*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:*
* High School diploma or equivalent; degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, Construction Management, or related, preferred
* 0-3 years construction experience
* The following certifications are not required, but preferred: ACI concrete field-testing, PCC I, PCC II, HMA I, HMA II, Nuclear Gauge / Radiation Safety
* Valid driver license with clean driving record
* The successful candidate will be encouraged to expand their skills and certifications through company provided training and mentoring
