Our large manufacturing client located in Peoria, Illinois, is looking for a Manufacturing Assembly Engineer, to add to their team.
Candidates must be
JOB DESCRIPTION
Provide support to production, and assure optimum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
Depending on experience, responsibilities may include:
Responsible for assigned manufacturing assembly processes.
Provide support to operators.
Refer to standard process, manufacturing documentation and systems to address inquires and provide guidance
Audit assembly areas to ensure that standard work and quality checks are performed, and followed the process correctly
Evaluate and recommend changes to existing manufacturing practices in terms of work simplification, process optimization, cost reduction, quality improvement, and method improvements
Provide technical and analytical support as needed
Report part quality issues, propose solutions, and support implementation of corrective action items
Point of contact for assembly issues and inquiries
Maintain and foster safety at all times.
Report safety problems immediately as per established processes.
Conduct risk assessments as needed
Provide support to address assembly issues, and through the implementation of corrective action items.
Report and escalate issues as needed
Engage in creative problem solving to address operational issues including: ergonomic/ safety, efficiency improvements, process bottlenecks, quality concerns
Champion PPM and scrap reduction
Work with cross-functional teams, including engineers, management, operations leaders, and others on assigned activities
Prepare and present daily status update, line problems and countermeasures to team leader
Assist in the development of training programs.
Train operators as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor or Associate degree in Manufacturing Engineering or similar field is preferred,
Must have 2+ years of experience working in the manufacturing industry
Knowledge of manufacturing operations(assembly), and ability to understand blue prints and manufacturing documentation is required
Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and general computer software
Experience with Siemens NX, software is desired;
Analytical, technical, and problem solving skills
Detail oriented with troubleshooting skills
Strong ability to handle multiple tasks and manage priorities is required
Must be self-directed, self-starter, and be able to multi-task
High energy and a demonstrated ability to implement and get results are essential
Strong written and verbal communication skills required
Must enjoy working in a team environment, and have strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
Ability to read, understand and follow regulations and procedures is required
Ability to listen to others is important for this job
Professional attitude, willingness to learn is required
