Job Description
Summary: The main function of an electrical engineer is to design, develop, test or supervise the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems for commercial, industrial, military or scientific use.
A typical electrical engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.
Job Responsibilities:
*- Design, develop, and test the manufacture of electrical equipment, including machinery controls, wiring, and lighting.

- Evaluate the cost effectiveness, reliability and safety of certain design models.
- Estimate time and cost to complete projects.
- Simulate and test machine/structure/system operation.
- Investigate and test vendors’ and competitors’ products.
Skills:

- Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
- Ability to perform details calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction and installation standards and specifications.

Education/Experience:

Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
- Complete differing levels of project work as it relates to complex electrical service tooling.
- Introduce new tooling solutions as required.
- Perform maintenance tasks on existing tooling.
- Experience working with global service tools will be gained through this role.
Reason/motivation for request:
- Additional support for current engineering needs.
- NPI ramp up is forecast, and additional support is needed to cover requests beyond normal workload.
Typical task breakdown:
- Creation of electrical tooling as requests come in from dealers.
- Correction of existing tooling issues in multiple areas, can be updating an existing tool for compliance regulations, or for replacing existing tooling with replacement tooling.
Interaction with team:
- Daily interaction with engineering team lead to report project progress and for training.
- Daily interaction with other electrical engineering team members to understand tooling needs and requests.
- Occasional interaction with procurement and authorizations teams as required for project work.
Work environment:
- 3 days in the office, 2 remote once candidate is trained.
Subject to change at any time due to needs of a project.
- Working in building LC Office, Electrical Lab and Mechanical lab as needed.
Education & Experience Required:
*- BS in engineering required*
*- Master’s or above will not be considered overqualified but work experience requirement will not change based on level of education*
*- Minimum two years’ relevant work experience which must include at least one of the below:*
*\* Electrical troubleshooting experience on various circuits.
*
*\* Experience working with harnesses on various applications.
*
*\* Testing of various components.

Technical Skills
(Required)
- Ability to understand complex wiring circuits for test equipment and machines.
- Ability to read prints and understand requirements needed to produce that part.
- Basic computer software knowledge, Excel, Word, Adobe, etc.
- Ability to use Excel to track project progress.

- Background in test, preferably on machines.
- Experience in instrumentation.
Soft Skills
